Tim Wright

Hi. My name is Tim Wright, I have lived in Chelmsford since 1992, first in Old Moulsham and now Moulsham Lodge. I am born and bred Essex.

I have been a Labour Party member since last August , for the second time – I did join once before, when Corbyn became leader as I liked some of what he stood for at the time. But I also left because of Corbyn, particularly because of his stance on Brexit and the antisemitism problem the party had.

When I re-joined Labour I did so because of a need to do “something”, any small thing to help get the Tories out, which is why I finally turned up to do some canvassing and am now coming forward as a candidate for councillor

When all is said and done, for me the top of any agenda should be anything that addresses climate change. Our Council has even declared a “Climate and Ecological Emergency”. If I became a councillor I would seek to accelerate this plan. I would encourage our Council to ensure that everything they do is sustainable, be it new housing or insulating existing, to improving the use of public transport.

We’re still selecting candidates. More are coming soon…
