Welcome to your October newsletter. Please read on for details of what we have been up to, and what is coming up. |
Latest News |
We were invited to attend a Volunteers Event at The Boswells Sixth Form College on 5 October. Carol, Nic and Jonathan went along to talk about volunteering for the Labour Party, how to register to vote, including getting a postal vote as no voter ID is currently required, and entered into some enthusiastic debates with students as to the merits of a Labour Government! Chelmsford Labour Party have sent two delegates to the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool. Ione and Louis will be reporting back to us on how it went at the meeting in October, and their report will be in the next newsletter. It is a long way off, but Chelmsford Labour Party will be holding an evening event for International Women’s Day on 8 March 2024. More details will be available nearer the time, but put the date in your diaries now – the event will be held in central Chelmsford. |

Can you help us? |
We are looking for somewhere to store some items such as banners, posters, and general Labour Party paraphernalia! If you are able to offer us somewhere, please contact Richard by email at chair@chelmsford-labour.org.uk |
Campaigns Team Update |
October is already turning out to be a great month for Labour campaigning. The efforts of our activists in Scotland secured an incredible 20% swing in the Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election on Thursday to sensationally snatch the parliamentary seat from the SNP. We will all be hoping that a similar result can be achieved in the Mid Bedfordshire constituency on Thursday 19th October, which is in the same Eastern region as Chelmsford. Although it is not exactly down the road, there are loads of opportunities if you want to get involved and help to ensure that Mid Bedfordshire residents get the Labour representation they deserve. You can check these out by clicking the below link: Search for Labour Party events near Mid Bedfordshire Closer to home, we will be continuing twice-monthly canvassing in Waterhouse Farm and Marconi wards to speak to voters ahead of the general election. Please RSVP and come along if you can – a warm welcome and full training await any newcomers |
