The Chelmsford Labour Party have been liaising with the Marconi Bellway homeowners who have been left high and dry by Bellway. The developer refuses to fit new cladding to flats which have Grenfell style cladding. On Saturday the 17th of July Chelmsford Labour joined the residents in a protest, warning potential new buyers about the dangers of buying one of these flats.

To our horror, we found that the Liberal Democrat Council is supporting the sale of these flats, that homeowners can’t sell on, and are being left with astronomical bills, by giving away gym membership. This has to stop. Bellway should be punished, not helped. People shouldn’t be trapped in homes they just bought.

Only Labour is speaking up for residents, the Conservative Government has failed to legislate, the Lib Dems are helping Bellway to sell the houses. Enough is enough.
